Mo Tanweer

My name is Mo Tanweer - I went to state school (Aylesbury Grammar School) in the UK and then studied Economics at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge University, receiving a B.A and M.A. I spent a few years in investment banking, before moving into teaching where I have been for a decade. I have taught in both day and boarding schools, and taught at Eton College as Head of Economics & Politics, before being appointed Deputy Head Academic elect. Before this, I was Head of Economics for 5 years at Oundle School, and before that I was a teacher of Economics & Politics and Head of Careers at Merchant Taylors' School. I have been a senior examiner for Edexcel and Pre-U for many years as well as having experience of being an examiner for the international A-level. I was also a Subject Expert for OFQUAL, as well as a Governor of Reach Academy in Feltham, London. I have taught on the REACH Cambridge Summer School for over 5 years and have extensive experience of teaching AQA, Edexcel and Pre-U exam boards. I currently help deliver the macroeconomics course on an Executive MBA and MBA at a top Business School in the UK. In addition to this I help academies and pupils from underprivileged schools from building aspirations, in particular with university applications. I have also spent many years preparing candidates for Oxbridge applications, focussing on Economics, E&M, PPE, and Land Economy. For two years I was a Teaching Associate at Cambridge University, supervising PartIIA development economists. My areas of economic interest are: China, game theory, behavioural economics, and competition. I have given lectures on China, Behavioural Economics, and Competition both in the UK and abroad. In the UK I have given lectures at Cambridge University, Eton College, RGS Guildford, Oundle School, Merchant Taylors' School, Charterhouse, Cheadle Hume, tutor2u Global Economy conferences and many more! Internationally, I have given lectures in Switzerland (Aiglon College), Spain (King's College School), Dubai (Dubai College), Cyprus. The discovery of Economics changed my life as a teenager and it continues to do so! I hope to pass on the genius of the subject to others!
